Angel Locsin has once again proven her versatility and acting prowess. This developed after she was named as one of the finalists in the 37th International Emmy Awards in the Best Performance by an Actress category.
Angel was noticed in her performance in "Lobo" (international title: The Wolf), a fantaserye under ABS-CBN. She edged other actresses from the Philippines as she is the lone representative of the Philippines for the said category.
Angel will be competing against the best actresses of the world which includes Emma de Caunes (Night Birds - France), Cecilia Suarez (Capadocia - Mexico) and Julie Walters (A Short Stay in Switzerland - BBC United Kingdom). Angel said she is so flattered and honored to represent the country in the prestigious award giving body.
Aside from Angel, two telenovelas also made to the final list of nominees namely "Magdusa Ka" and "Kahit Isang Saglit" (international title: A Time For Us) in the Telenovela Category. The former is an entry from GMA-7 topbilled by Katrina Halili, Iwa Moto and Dennis Trillo while the latter is from ABS-CBN starred by Jericho Rosales and Carmen Soo.

Angel Locsin in the Emmy's Red Carpet
Angel Locsin went to New York alone for the red carpet during the Emmy Awards night. It has been reported that Angel asked her leading man in "Lobo", Piolo Pascual, to accompany her but Piolo begged off due to his commitment in the ongoing local remake of "Lovers In Paris".
Angel was one of the favorites during the awards night. In her march in the red carpet, Angel was amazed that a lot of international press know her and even took pictures and interviewed her. But Angel did not win the grand prize. But nevertheless, her march in the red carpet of the Emmy's is a once in a lifetime experience that only two Filipinas so far (including her) has done it.

Efren Penaflorida's Love Letter to Angel
After Angel's stint at the Emmy's, the Angel - Luis Manzano breakup was hot in the news until Angel and Luis formally admitted it. Although Luis is trying his best in wooing Angel back, there are a lot of suitors trying to win the love of Angel.
One of the noisiest in the press is 2009 CNN hero Efren Penaflorida. Efren has already admitted his love for Angel and Angel has never admitted nor denied Efren yet.
The two first met in the airplane when Efren was going to the US to receive his CNN award while Angel was going to New York for the Emmy's. Efren gave Angel a calling card and behind it was a short note which read:
“Dear Ms. Colmenares, I’ve always been praying for you and I will always pray for you. Let me be your distant warrior. God heard me when I met you unexpectedly today. Please continue your noble service. I admire you for that. Sincerely, Efren.”
So that's it all began.
